who have their hearts broken,
their minds troubled,

Hearts and Empires is divided into 5 parts:
(I) Love & Heartbreak
(II) Tales & Magic
(III) Grim & Darkness
(IV) Healing & Fire
(V) Love Letters To The Dead

After reading this, I honestly debated which part I liked more and decided I liked them all equally. I couldn't just pick one. The emotions in each part were raw. A few words conveyed thousands of unspoken feelings.

Each part, each prose/poetry left me with a longing. It left me wondering the fate of the individuals. I could feel their pain, their loss, their love, their longing. Some, where just magical, especially the Tales & Magic, it was that good. And some were just dark.

"Count my scars gently for it still hurts" made me so emotional. The single piece spoke volumes and gave me a full view into her painful past filled with agony and I felt my heart ache for her. I can list many more like "Forest Fire", "I love you as certain dark things are to be Love", "Love Letters to the dead", "Doubtful Heart", "Tell me something I didn't know", the list goes on. The beautiful choice of words made the reading experience delightful.

I've read a very few poetry and I can honestly say that this collection had my attention and it's a page turner, each word slowly seeping through your mind and settling down there. They are short and sweet.

I highly recommend this.
