Review: Special Minds

Special Minds Special Minds by Ally K.
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rating: 3.5 stars

This is a story of a seventeen year old Millicent Kale. She is trying to cope with the pain of losing her mother at a young age. Her boss Mrs. Griffin becomes a person who cares for her like a mother and soon the news of her retirement shocks Millicent to no extent. If that wasn't enough, she meets a sexy stranger Dean Write, who brings out the worst in her.

The meeting of the main leads is done differently from the most of the romance books I've read. I won't say that Millicent hates Dean from the moment they met. Its not an attraction either. She just expresses a feeling you get towards a total stranger who makes you feel obligated to some extent.

A few times, her thoughts made me crack up, but sometimes I just wanted her to suck it up and put the big girl panties on and deal with it.

Dean is a character that would warm your hearts with his gentle and sincere nature. There is not much we can learn about him in this story except for that he has a similar past like Millicent.

The instant hatred towards the antagonist couldn't be helped though he appears only in a few scenes.

Then another unique concept about this story is the special minds just as the title. You need to read the story to know what it is. There is still room for improvement and several new questions arise towards the end. Hoping to get the answers in the sequel.
