My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I did not know what to expect when I started reading this. Burning Up Flint is the first Cyborg book I read and it took a while to register the concept. It was confusing at most of the places and I couldn't help but hate Flint.
Flint kidnaps Mira, force her to have sex with him, treats her like a possession and keep her locked. When she tries to escape he solds her to another cyborg in the ship and takes her back after a lot of begging. The cyborg world the author created is good yet infuriating. I mean they care about nothing and their world is um... No comments. There is no real love between the characters, it is just based on sex. There is too much sex that at one point I just skipped whenever it came, which was too often.
After reading the other books by this author, my expectations ran high and I think that was one of the reason, I was disappointed with this one. I am sorry, I really do love New Species series and have ready every book at least twice. However, I can't say the same for this one.
