Review: Egyptian Nights

Egyptian Nights Egyptian Nights by L. Loren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first time I am reading Loren's book and I loved it!!!

Egypt is sexually abused as a teen and when her mother finds out, things doesn't go as expected. Her mother blames her for everything that happened and her words of hatred changes Egypt. She doesn't do love and use men only for sex. When Harper walks in her restaurant the immediate attraction between them and the high sexual tension between them ignites sparks. When one night isn't enough, Egypt finds herself drawn to Harper in more ways than one. She struggles to come to terms with her set of rules, that she continues to break where Harper was involved and she just got one more trouble in the paradise.

This book may start as an erotica, but there is more to Egypt and Harper. The prologue cracked me up and I fell in love with NFG immediately. I never came across an intro like this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sex scenes were steamier, but hey... things happen between couples and you shouldn't judge them for that. ;)

When I started reading my initial assumption was that the story would deal with Egypt falling in love and struggling to cope with her past tragedy. However, the readers were loaded into an emotional roller coaster when Harper's nemesis show up and Egypt just happens to know him. What next? Trouble begins in paradise.

Be it the beginning where the young Egypt is abused or towards the end where she tries to handle the problem by herself, shows her selflessness. Egypt is a mature character and she proves it from time to time throughout the story. Harper is an interesting personality and it takes a while for the reader to understand him. That's mostly because the entire story is in Egypt's point of view.

It's an interesting read. It contains explicit sexual content and mentions of sexual abuse.
